On September 24, curator Dot Porter will be joined by manuscript scholar Lisa Fagin Davis. Together, they will bring out Ms. Oversize 54, a fragment of one membrane of a French 15th-century illuminated genealogical chronicle roll.
Hosted by: SIMS and Kislak Center
An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.
On September 24, curator Dot Porter will be joined by manuscript scholar Lisa Fagin Davis. Together, they will bring out Ms. Oversize 54, a fragment of one membrane of a French 15th-century illuminated genealogical chronicle roll. Despite being a small fragment it is beautifully illustrated and illuminated. We'll look at it alongside LJS 266, a codex version of a similar text.
Note that the Zoom links for Coffee With a Codex are reusable - register once and attend every Thursday at 12pm EST / 5pm GMT.
