Laser-Engraved Lino Block Printing

Explore how digital fabrication and traditional printmaking can come together! In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how digital artwork can be transformed into laser-engraved linoleum printing blocks and then use pre-made blocks to create their own prints on the presses at Common Press. Christine Kemp will introduce the process of preparing vector artwork for digital fabrication and discuss resources for students interested in creating their own blocks, while Jessica Peterson will demonstrate the fundamentals of lino block printing and guide participants through the printing process.
