A beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop where students use Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, and Photoshop to design, prepare, print, and assemble custom product packaging for a mini toy.
Hosted by: Education Commons and WIC
Hands-On Introduction to Generative AI for Product Packaging
Discover the creative possibilities of Generative AI in this beginner-friendly workshop. You’ll get hands-on experience with Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT and Photoshop to design custom box packaging for a mini toy. Along the way, you’ll explore the importance of visual presence in packaging and learn how to prepare and export your design for printing and final assembly. This session blends digital creativity with practical skills, fostering interdisciplinary thinking through an engaging, hands-on approach.
Please note: This is Part 2 of a two-part workshop series. Using AI for Toy Design: 3D Model Creation—Part 1—will be held in the Education Commons on October 14. We encourage you to register for both sessions. In Part 1, you’ll create your own toy design that will be 3D printed out and used during the package design.
Learning Outcome: By the end of this workshop, students will be able to use generative AI and Adobe Photoshop to design and refine professional-style packaging for their 3D toy, integrating AI-generated imagery, typography, and layout principles to create print-ready artwork while demonstrating creative decision-making, visual communication skills, and responsible use of AI-generated content.
